Jon Sprague

Jonathan Sprague is a seasoned learning leader in education and credentialing, with more than two decades of experience across healthcare and academic settings. He currently serves as Director of Education and Credentialing at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), where he has played a key role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives to expand and strengthen the organization’s educational programs since joining in 2019. In this role, Jonathan oversees program development, ensures compliance with accreditation standards, and has led the implementation of innovative technologies, including a Learning Management System (Docebo), to enhance learning experiences for healthcare professionals.

Prior to AAID, Jonathan held senior leadership roles such as Manager of Assessments and Examinations at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, where he developed new digital assessment strategies and led the creation of educational resources for orthopaedic residents. His work supported financial growth while maintaining high educational quality.

Jonathan has also worked extensively in learning and development consulting with organizations including Condensed Curriculum International, Pearson Learning Solutions, and McGraw-Hill Higher Education, contributing to digital curriculum development and textbook editing. These experiences reflect his deep expertise in instructional design and content strategy.

He holds a Master of Science in Biology from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from MacMurray College. Jonathan earned the CPTM (Credentialed Professional in Training Management) designation in October 2024. He and his AAID team have received multiple Brandon Hall Awards for excellence in learning design, including two Silver awards in 2024 and two Gold awards in 2025.
